Although Morgan Grade School no longer exists, in our day it was very much apparent on Duff Street in Staley Addition. There were two classes of each grade. The fifth grades were taught in two temporary rooms outside the main building, one on each side, which eventually became permanent. The above snapshots are of one of the 2nd grades during the 1940/41 school year. The students on the right are: First row-Sally Blackwell, unknown, Robert Laurent, Virginia Hester, Frances Tate, Buddy Flesher, unknown,Mary Sue Bolton, Second row-unknown, unknown, Miller, unknown, unknown,unknown, Betty Lou McKowen,unknown, Third row- unknown, unknown, Robert Wilfong, unknown, unknown, Nina---, Bob Bush. The teachers who taught this group of children all through the six grades were: 1st-Ms. Chestnut, 2nd-Mrs. McCllung, 3rd-Ms. Israel, 4th Ms. Rohrbough, 5th-unknown, 6th- Ms. Matthews.
