Looking back, our first reunion, 20 years after graduation, was the most exciting for many of us.   We were eager to hear about   and see the changes that the years had wrought.  The event, organized by a committee of devoted classmates in Clarksburg, was held on July 10th and llth of July at the Stonewall Jackson Hotel.  On Saturday night, our toastmaster, Browning Boggs, began the evening’s program by introducing speakers, Kenneth Cubbon, Miss Robinson, and Mr. Duckworth.  Next, we were entertained with poetry and song. An original poem by our class valedictorian, Janice Ferrell Brown, was read. A group of classmates called “The Graduates” sang two parodies written by Carolyn Moore O’Neil to the tunes of “Those Were the Days” and “Try to Remember”.  The “Rhythmaires” provided dance music that, at one point in the evening, inspired Violet Lee and Neil Henshaw to perform an uninhibited Greek handkerchief dance as seen in the movie, “Never on Sunday”.  Neil added to the authenticity of their dance by stripping to the waist and rolling on the floor!   Last but not least, kudos should go to the preparers of the “Reunion Yearbook” which was a superb compilation of current pictures of classmates and their families.
